The Special VIth Congress of the Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations of Ukraine took place in Kyiv on September 8, 2009. The representatives of the National Space Agency of Ukraine and the Aerospace Association took part in its work.
The delegates of the Congress were welcomed by the NSAU Director-General Olexandr Zinchenko, who supported the initiative of the Union concerning the raising the level of Ukrainian specialist skills to the European standards and named the one of urgent problem of the industry – education of modern scientific and engineering specialists.
“Exactly the space industry has all opportunities to become the locomotive of the innovation development of the country and to ensure the sustainable development in global economic environment” – he stressed.
The Deputy Director-General E. Kuznetsov reported about the NSAU experience on commercialization of space technologies. The one of the first steps of the NSAU and the Union of Scientific and Engineering Association of Ukraine cooperation became the joint edition of the booklet “Ukrainian Space Technologies: the World of Ideas and Innovations” in 2008.
