On 18-23 August, 2009 at Zhukovsky, Russian Federation, the International Aviation & Space Salon MAKS 2009 will take place.
Space Industry of Ukraine is represented at the MAKS 2009 by the National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU) and the following leading enterprises of the national space-industry brunch: Yangel Yuzhnoye State Design Office (Yuzhnoye SDO); O. Makarov Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant (Yuzhmash), Production Association (Dnipropetrovs’k); National Space Facilities Control and Test Center (Eupatoria); Arsenal Special Instrument-Making State-owned Plant (Kyiv); Radmir Radio Measurement Scientific and Research Institute, JSC (Kharkiv). Informational support for participants will be provided by IAC “Space-Inform” and popular science magazine “Vselennaya, Prostranstvo, Vremiya”.
Yuzhnoye SDO and Yuzhmash PA demonstrate Ukraine-manufactured launch vehicles (LV) Dnipro, Zenit-3SL, Zenit-3SLB; new Ukrainian earth remote sensing satellite Sich-2; modified engine RD-861K designed for Cyclon-4 LV with nozzles of carbon-carbon composite materials; super light and super strong titanium alighting gear for An-140 and An-148 aircraft produced on the basis of space technologies. For the first time the unique space project of acquisition and utilisation of concentrated solar energy on the ground surface “Solar Spring” is presented at MAKS 2009.
National Space Facilities Control and Test Center (Eupatoria Space Center) presents RT-70 Ukrainian radio telescope. This telescope after technical modification will be involved together with Russian ground facilities and spacecraft in the implementation of “Phobos-Grunt” and “Radioastron” international projects.
Kyiv Arsenal Plant presents:
Airborne multifunctional liquid crystal display and head-up display system SKI-77 mounted on transport and passenger airplanes and helicopters to display aviation information;
Helmet-mounted target designation and indication system SURA-I;
Advanced aviation sights ASP-17BC-8 designed for attack aircraft SU-25, SU-17M, SU-22 type;
Celestial navigation devices – solar tracking devices IKS-2, IKS-3, IKS-4, and mini stellar system (MSS);
Earth remote sensing optical-electronic systems – high resolution spaceborne scanner HRS, optical-mechanical units for multiple spectral bands scanner and middle IR scanner;
Inertial measurement cluster with laser gyros and 3-axial monoblock laser gyro T-18.
Kharkiv Radmir RMSRI displays Ukrainian ground coordinate-and-navigation system (control-correcting stations network) using GLONASS data. Application of such system will create common navigation area for perspective customers on the Russian and Ukrainian territory.
RMSRI also presents the following products:
Ground spacecraft control-and-receiving station;
Mobile telemetry system (remote tracking station VIP) for deployment on unequipped launching paths of home-produced LV;
Combined command-and-telemetry control radio circuit SKTRL for spacecraft operational control;
Unified receiving station for communication with low-orbiting earth remote sensing satellites UN SPI-8.2.
IAC “Space-Inform” - informational partner of NSAU, presents photo album “Space Ukraine” which contains unique photo materials about the first rocketeers, famous scientists, designers, space industry professionals and spacemen of Ukrainian origin, as well as about the history of foundation and development of the Ukrainian space industry, current Ukrainian space activities and perspective national space projects.
Publishers of the popular science magazine “Vselennaya, Prostranstvo, Vremiya”, getting out in Kyiv and being broadly distributed in Ukraine, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, together with NSAU prepared the special edition for MAKS 2009 devoted to the results and perspectives of the Ukrainian space activities.
