“Zenit-3SLB” LV has been successfully launched from Baikonur launching site with American space craft onboard
 
 

    On November 30, 2009 at 22:59 Kyiv time (+2 GMT) the fourth successful launch of “Zenit-3SLB” LV has been conducted within “Land Launch” program from Baikonur launching site, informs Data Center of SDO “Yuzhnoye”.
    The launch was executed by “International Space Services” (ISS) Company, which includes Ukrainian enterprises – SDO Yuzhnoye and PA Yuzhmash, so as Russian organizations – Rocket Space Corporation “Energiya”, S.A. Lavochkin Scientific-Production Association, Design Office of Transport Machine-Building (KBTM), “Centre for Ground-Based Space Infrastructure” (TsENKI) and others.
    ”Zenit-3SLB” LV delivered American space craft Intelsat-15 with a mass of 2 518 kg to the geostationary orbit.
    The launch vehicle ”Zenit-3SLB” was designed by SDO Yuzhnoye. It consists of the following parts: first and second stage of the LV (SDO Yuzhnoye, PA Yuzhmash), boosting block DM-SL (RSC "Energiya") and fairing (S.A. Lavochkin SPA).
    Intelsat-15 is a telecommunication satellite, produced by American Corporation Orb³tal Sciences for American Company Intelsat, which shall replace ²ntelsat-709 satellite on orbit.
    Intelsat-15 has 22 transponders of Ku-band and is aimed at providing services in data transfer and TV broadcasting for the Middle East, Indian Ocean area and Russia consumers. The satellite will remain on geostationary orbit in the observation point of 87 degree of East longitude. The planned operation time of the satellite is no less than 15 years.
