SSAU and European Commission signed an Arrangement on cooperation in the framework of the Copernicus Programme

The State Space Agency of Ukraine and the European Commission signed an Cooperation Arrangement on Cooperation in the area of data access and use of Sentinel data of the Copernicus programme.

The signing ceremony took place on May 25 in the framework of the visit of the SSAU delegation headed by Mr. Pavlo Degtyarenko, the SSAU Chairman, to Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium).

The conclusion of the Arrangement will facilitate the establishment of close cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of remote sensing and will ensure the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

In addition, during the meeting the parties discussed further steps of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the Arrangement. As a result of consultations, an agreement was reached to hold in Kyiv the Copernicus Information Day for potential consumers on the possibilities of using the Sentinel satellite data.
