Within September 25-29, SSAU Chairman Pavlo Degtiarenko participates in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2017), held in Adelaide, Australia.
The International Astronautical Congress is an annual event engaging space agencies, organizations, institutions and enterprises of space activities. IAC is a worldwide interdisciplinary and comprehensive space event that offers everyone the opportunity to explore the latest space elaborations, innovations and to get new contacts and potential partners.
The International Astronautical Congress is organized by the International Astronautical Federation, together with its partner organizations, the International Academy of Astronautics and the International Institute of Space Law. Each year, the place, topic and host of the International Astronautical Congress is being changed, allowing everyone to become a part of the world's space community.
In the framework of this year's IAC-2017, the Chairman of the SSAU takes part in plenary and technical events of the Congress, multilateral meetings of the Heads of Space Agencies of the world. The visit also includes a series of bilateral meetings and discussions with delegations from Australian Government, NASA, the European Space Agency, Italian Space Agency, Boeing, Space Agency of the Republic of South Africa, CNES, DLR, and others.
In particular, on September 26, within the framework of IAC-2017, Chairman Degtiarenko and Director General of Mexican Space Agency Mr. Francisco Javier Mendieta Jimenez, signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Space Agency of Ukraine and Mexican Space Agency concerning space cooperation in peaceful purposes. The main goal of this Memorandum is to promote cooperation in peaceful exploration and use of outer space between Ukraine and the United Mexican States. This Memorandum is another step towards expanding bilateral cooperation in the space field, which will allow a joint engagement in identifying promising areas of interaction and initiating practical cooperation between space agencies and enterprises, institutions and organizations of both countries in joint projects and programs.
