Background 27-28 March 2003 in Brussels 1st Meeting of the “Ukraine-EU Joint ad hoc Working Group on Space Research and Peaceful Use of Outer Space” occured. The Ukrainian delegation expressed strong interest in a close cooperation with the EU in all space-related programmes of FP-6. Both parties agreed that they would take all necessary measures to facilitate the information and integration of Ukrainian researchers in relevant programmes of the EU. According to the Protocol signed, the National Space Agency of Ukraine, together with EC and ESA, would organize an “EC/ESA/NSAU Workshop on space-related research under FP-6” in Kyiv. The European Commission would support this event and invite relevant representatives from European research community and industry.
